Delta Gamma

Philanthropy Events

Anchor Slam is just one of the many philanthropy events hosted by Eta Pi chapter of Delta Gamma. Anchor Slam is a 3-on-3 basketball tournament that we hold at the Ray Meyer Fitness Center on campus. Fraternities, sororities and other campus organizations and students register teams and compete in the tournament during winter quarter at DePaul.

The women of our chapter all come together to work at the event, which is our largest philanthropy event of the year. Women of our chapter referee the games and “coach” the teams through the rounds of the bracket until the final, big game. We have a silent auction and refreshments to keep the teams fueled. At the end of the tournament, there is a slam-dunk contest and the final game winner is declared champion!

All of the profits from Anchor Slam go to Service for Sight, Delta Gamma’s national philanthropy. Our 2013-14 Anchor Slam was our most successful event yet. We raised over $2,000 for Service for Sight and had the highest number of participants in Eta Pi’s history. We hope to continue this growth and continue doing good!

During midterms each quarter, we also host our Donuts With DG's where we sell donuts in DePaul's Library. All the proceeds from this event also benefit Service for Sight.
